Hey ladies! So I wanted to continue sharing this topic because as I had mentioned already in the previous blog post.."Who Defines Me?" that God has created us each unique in our own way as individual women but He has also brought us near to Him through Christ Jesus. We have been born again and so I am the new and improved "Naomie" and you are the new and improved "you". (Colossians 3: 1-2) Christ has given us who believe, a new identity. Colossians 2 talks about the new life we have in Christ. Paul tells the church in Colosse that they must continue to follow Christ and let their roots grow down into Him and their lives be built on Him. (2:6-7) To experience true healing and transformation, there needs to be a renewing of the mind. I find that the more I renew my mind in what God says about me, is the more I'm better able to face difficulties and just life in general. Not just because it's changing the way I think but because it is the LIVING truth that will manifest and bring forth fruit!! It is remaining in Christ and walking according to the Word of God that will do the work! So often we become vulnerable and give in to Satan's lies and our insecurities. On many occasions , I would feel defeated and discouraged because I allowed my insecurities and Satan's lies to get the best of me. I'd hear: "You'll never make it. You're not good enough. Why are you wasting your time? You're not progressing. Just give up." These are just some of the thoughts I allowed to live in my mind whether it be with how I performed at work, my spiritual life, my kids, school, ministry, managing my home and my marriage. And I'm sure you ladies can relate with some of these things if not all these things I just listed. I was just swallowing myselfup in negativity unable to see what the truth really is about me and who is living in me. "You are of God, Little Children, and have overcome them because He who is in you is greater than He who is in the world" 1 John 4:4 Sisters!! This verse above slapped me silly! It woke me up!! There is a power living in us--in you! If only we can learn to exercise and give room for it to be released! There is no telling where we would find ourselves! Christ is an overcomer! He OVERCAME on that cross! Cancelling out every single lie of the enemy and putting him to silence! We are not just daughters of a King! We are more than conquerors! (Romans 8:37) When those thoughts come rising up in our head, we must be able to detect where they are coming from and use the truth to fight them off. Is it rooted from fear? Is it doubt? Hate? Pride? Or is it the enemy's lies. Nothing negative comes from the Lord so it can't be Him. Whatever is of God will ALWAYS align with the Word of God! The Bible says:
I am loved. Isaiah 43:3 I am worth more than rubies. Proverbs 31:10 I am free. John 8:36 I am worth it. Romans 5: 6-8 I am victorious. Phil 4:13 To name a few affirmations we can use to respond back to all that negativity. Make the Word of God your weapon! When I started learning to do this I began to see my confidence level sky rocket y'all! My faith increased ad I have hope now more than I ever did. And that's the beauty of being in Christ! We walk by faith, not by sight. Your feelings about yourself or your situation has NOTHING to do with what your God says about you and your situation! It's your faith! Exercise it! Be persistent because change won't happen over night. It is a journey we are taking with the Lord until the end! The more we keep walking in the truth is the more we will see ourselves becoming like Him in our actions, words and thoughts. Make the conscious decision to walk in the truth and say NO to the lies!! Prayer: Lord, I thank you that who I am is not based on what I think of myself or what my situation is. I thank you that I don't have to rely on my feelings but on your promises and your Word to get me through each day and every moment of the day. Thank you for giving me hope when I had none to begin with. Thank you for saving me. Teach me to walk in the truth no matter what and to hold fast to it when times are difficult. Thank you Father, thank you Jesus. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
