Hey ladies! So I wanted to continue sharing this topic because as I had mentioned already in the previous blog post.."Who Defines Me?" that God has created us each unique in our own way as individual women but He has also brought us near to Him through Christ Jesus. We have been born again and so I am the new and improved "Naomie" and you are the new and improved "you". (Colossians 3: 1-2) Christ has given us who believe, a new identity. Colossians 2 talks about the new life we have in Christ. Paul tells the church in Colosse that they must continue to follow Christ and let their roots grow down into Him and their lives be built on Him. (2:6-7) To experience true healing and transformation, there needs to be a renewing of the mind. I find that the more I renew my mind in what God says about me, is the more I'm better able to face difficulties and just life in general. Not just because it's changing the way I think but because it is the LIVING truth that will manifest and bring forth fruit!! It is remaining in Christ and walking according to the Word of God that will do the work! So often we become vulnerable and give in to Satan's lies and our insecurities. On many occasions , I would feel defeated and discouraged because I allowed my insecurities and Satan's lies to get the best of me. I'd hear: "You'll never make it. You're not good enough. Why are you wasting your time? You're not progressing. Just give up." These are just some of the thoughts I allowed to live in my mind whether it be with how I performed at work, my spiritual life, my kids, school, ministry, managing my home and my marriage. And I'm sure you ladies can relate with some of these things if not all these things I just listed. I was just swallowing myselfup in negativity unable to see what the truth really is about me and who is living in me. "You are of God, Little Children, and have overcome them because He who is in you is greater than He who is in the world" 1 John 4:4 Sisters!! This verse above slapped me silly! It woke me up!! There is a power living in us--in you! If only we can learn to exercise and give room for it to be released! There is no telling where we would find ourselves! Christ is an overcomer! He OVERCAME on that cross! Cancelling out every single lie of the enemy and putting him to silence! We are not just daughters of a King! We are more than conquerors! (Romans 8:37) When those thoughts come rising up in our head, we must be able to detect where they are coming from and use the truth to fight them off. Is it rooted from fear? Is it doubt? Hate? Pride? Or is it the enemy's lies. Nothing negative comes from the Lord so it can't be Him. Whatever is of God will ALWAYS align with the Word of God! The Bible says:
I am loved. Isaiah 43:3 I am worth more than rubies. Proverbs 31:10 I am free. John 8:36 I am worth it. Romans 5: 6-8 I am victorious. Phil 4:13 To name a few affirmations we can use to respond back to all that negativity. Make the Word of God your weapon! When I started learning to do this I began to see my confidence level sky rocket y'all! My faith increased ad I have hope now more than I ever did. And that's the beauty of being in Christ! We walk by faith, not by sight. Your feelings about yourself or your situation has NOTHING to do with what your God says about you and your situation! It's your faith! Exercise it! Be persistent because change won't happen over night. It is a journey we are taking with the Lord until the end! The more we keep walking in the truth is the more we will see ourselves becoming like Him in our actions, words and thoughts. Make the conscious decision to walk in the truth and say NO to the lies!! Prayer: Lord, I thank you that who I am is not based on what I think of myself or what my situation is. I thank you that I don't have to rely on my feelings but on your promises and your Word to get me through each day and every moment of the day. Thank you for giving me hope when I had none to begin with. Thank you for saving me. Teach me to walk in the truth no matter what and to hold fast to it when times are difficult. Thank you Father, thank you Jesus. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Lately, I've realized how much more important it is to know who I am and where I stand as an individual. To not be afraid to be different from the crowd. It is okay. I don't have to fit in. It's not worth it especially if my faith and what I know to be true is compromised--- just to feel "comfortable". FIRST: I AM GOD'S PROPERTY (CHRIST IN ME). SECOND: GOD CREATED ME TO BE "NAOMIE", not Barbara or Christine. As women, it is easy to compare ourselves to other women and think down on ourselves. Society looks at us weird or laughs if we are not apart of the "trends" and cultural practices they follow. But we as followers of Christ and individual women must catch ourselves and stand firm so that we don't conform to these patterns IF they don't align with God's ultimate purpose for us. My husband and I went to an event and while we were there, I looked around and noticed how others were dressed and thought "Aww man, I should've worn something like that instead". How I dressed wasn't good enough and up to par. I was out of the loop. The other ladies dressed way better. But I had to catch myself and correct my thoughts real quick. I had to tell myself "No, If I like what I am wearing and God is pleased with it. Why? " Not to mention, my husband liked it. I needed to understand at that moment that I am comfortable with it. I liked it. It's okay to be different. There is nothing wrong with being the one apart. I am "Naomie" for a reason. God has designed each of us with particular gifts, interests, sense of style, and tastes. We must learn to embrace them and be sure we use them to glorify Him. We are each unique in our own way. God is pleased with how He created us why shouldn't we? Throughout Genesis 1, we see that everything our Heavenly Father created was good. It goes further to tell us that we were created in God's image--so we are special!! (Gen 1:27) Like David, we can acknowledge that God made us and formed every detail that makes us who we are. We can thank God for how He has created us to be. (Psalm 139:14) As women and daughters of the King, let us set aside those negative thoughts and lies of the enemy!
Saturate your mind with what really counts and matters! Speak life to yourself!! I am beautiful because God made me I am "___(your name)______" for a greater purpose I am the daughter of a King I am special because I was created in the image of the Creator of the universe I am enough I am unique--in my looks, style, and all--to give a description of how mighty and creative my God is in all His glory Prayer: Lord, teach me to first see myself in Christ and then to embrace all the components you created to make up who I am. For You knew me when I was being formed in my mother's womb. You knew me even before the creation of time. Teach me to accept that your ways are better and greater! Thank you for your wonderful creativity! For I am fearfully and wonderfully made! Thank You that You had a greater purpose in mind when you created me! I trust that Your ways are better! In Jesus name I pray...Amen
Hi ladies!
I am so excited about this blog I've created called daugthersforthekingdom! Its been a project I felt God had been placing on my heart for a while now and I thank Him for giving me the opportunity to finally do it! God has been showing me so many things about my identity and purpose and through this blog I would like to share those things with you. I believe He wants all His daughters to know who they are, how much worth they have and the impact they can have on other people's lives and the world! Our society and world in general suffers from lack of knowledge. We've been hurt, wounded and rejected by those we love and care about and that has left us feeling hopeless, alone and worthless causing us to think and do things in ways that don't glorify God. There is a sense of emptiness we want to fill up but can't. We run to guys, success, popularity with friends, etc. to find that fulfillment but we are disappointed EVERY time! ~ God wants to change that! This blog is an opportunity to learn, share and acknowledge that we are broken people in need of a Savior who is Christ. To understand that we are all in this together, encourage each other to pursue and surrender who we are to Christ. Know and apply who we are in Christ and not be afraid to be set apart. It is an opportunity to experience completeness and fulfillment that only Christ can give! God wants us to embrace who we are as women to live for Him freely! He wants us to make Him our First Love, our First EVERYTHING! So I invite you to take this journey with me!! God is ready to reveal Himself! |
